This past Thursday, Cheech was playing near her designated shelves on one of our bookcases when she lost her footing, fell forward and hit her cheek on one of the shelves, and fell back and hit her head on the floor. She's currently sporting a superhero bruise on her right cheek. On Saturday, after a few days of fussiness, she woke up from her morning nap with boogers all over her face and her first nasty cold.
So yeah, I've been a little preoccupied and completely and totally forgot about Soup Club this past week. I'm sure most of you didn't even notice, which I wouldn't expect you to anyway... trust me. I just like to make note of my shortcomings. Must be a scorpio thing, or something.
Also, I have no idea what a llama in a scarf has to do with any of this, but isn't he cute?
Love the llama!
ReplyDeletePoor Cheechie. Hope she feels better soon, mama. Mama and llama rhyme. xo.
ReplyDeletep.s. I babysat a four-month-old on Friday night. He had 102-degree fever and pneumonia. He was fussy, nose-full-of-boogers, the whole bit. But I felt like a f*cking champ when I (finally) got him to go to sleep. I had to crack open one of the parents' beers after that. I felt I deserved it. MAD RESPECT FOR MOMS EVERYWHERE. xo.

ReplyDeleteI love that llama! A friend sent me a picture text with the following caption: "call the cops, I don't give a f*ck." I seriously made my day. This post reminded me of how hard you were on yourself last time she suffered an injury, so I just wanted to tell you that you're doing a good job. I know I don't know you but you seem like well rounded smart lady and that regardless of how bad you feel sometimes, know that Lil C is a lucky girl.
ReplyDeleteNo matter. The Llama is amazing.
ReplyDelete@nicole his parents left him with you when he was THAT sick? oh man, i'm a little embarrassed to admit that i've only left cheech with a sitter twice, and both times she was already in bed. bravo to you!
ReplyDelete@stacey you are so kind. her falls and bumps are REALLY hard for me to handle. sometimes i feel i'm a little too sensitive for all this mom crap, but i'm trying. :) luckily, cheech is made of stone. that girl can handle just about anything.
