goings on

I'm going through one of those periods in my life where everything has started to feel ever so hectic. I have tons to do, all the time; It never stops. Somehow, my list of tasks just keeps growing and growing. I wake up every morning and set out to cross at least five things off said list, but truthfully, I'm lucky if I can accomplish getting three of them out of the way. I think this all has to do with becoming an adult. A real adult.

Speaking of lists, here are a few things that have been going on as of late...

I finally picked and ordered my bag. I will write a followup post once it arrives.

I have a pile of Cheech's birthday invitations sitting on my kitchen counter. With an RSVP date of March 20th, I should probably consider sending them out sooner than later.

(DANGEROUS LINKS AHEAD...) I've spent the last week attempting [and failing] to get these two songs out of my head. Don't ask.

I'm ready to move. Considering my rapidly growing baby and the shop, this one-bedroom apartment simply is not cutting it anymore.

Speaking of, Joe brought a bike home last night. It's current home is in our dining room. Cheech is trying to climb it as I type this.

I watched this documentary and cried like a baby through the whole thing.

I'm dying to see this. Yay or nay?

I've made a second appointment to finish up my ombre highlights, but really all I want to do is cut my hair. I've decided to wait through the Summer. If I've still got the itch, it's coming off.

Not that you haven't noticed, but I've had to throw in the towel for Soup Club. Things have been so bananas around here lately that something as little as Soup Club was starting to make me feel incredibly overwhelmed. I'm not very good at feeling overwhelmed. I'm holding on to the recipes though, and will start it up again (sporadically) once Fall comes back around.

Cheech has completely fallen out of any sort of nap/sleep schedule, and I have not a single clue how to get it back. I'm hoping this is just some weird baby phase, and that she'll eventually refigure it out on her own. For those of you who have kids, you can understand how bad this sucks. On the bright side, it looks like she is finally, officially sleeping through the whole night.

If you've asked/emailed regarding my new skincare regime, I decided to stick exclusively with Dermalogica products and have been extremely happy with the results. Like mentioned before, I was using the Dermal Cleanser, and I've added on the Dynamic Skin Recovery and the Age Reversal Eye Complex. As you can clearly see, it's not exactly a budget-friendly line, so I'm holding out on any sort of nighttime moisturizer and using coconut oil for now. I'm still not super religious about taking care of my skin, but even so have noticed a fair amount of improvement. Also, even though the products are on the pricier side, they will last you. I bought everything in mid-January and have barely made a dent in my bottles.

I'm looking forward to brunch and a bloody mary (or two) on Sunday.

  1. I've heard about Yo GabbaGabba (sp?), but now I know. I don't have kids yet, but it's nice to know I have something to look forward to watching. Seriously cracks me up! The Beginners, don't wait another day. Watch it ASAP. With tissue.

  3. I have just switched to Dermalogica products for my skin and it has been amazing! For some reason my skin just changed over night about 8 months ago and what I was using just wasn't cutting it! Good decision I say.

    1. Ok, I just wrote the longest comment ever and deleted it because I sound like a giant infomercial. Let me keep this simple-- I have struggled with my skin my whole life. I recently said eff it and overhauled my skincare with Paula's Choice products. I literally woke my husband up this morning to demand that he look at my skin. Ridiculous results. Anyway, just thought I'd share because her stuff is totally affordable and you could supplement whatever you like from Dermalogica with her stuff to save some money. You can order samples of all her stuff before ordering full sizes and even then she lets you return anything for a full refund if it doesn't work for you. Why? Because she's awesome. LOVE HER! www.paulaschoice.com. I swear I don't work for her. Hmm but maybe I should.... I'm just so excited! This is still long--- SORRY. ;)

Looks like there is a lot of conflicting research, FUN.

  6. D is currently researching another bike. We have 2 already (was 3 before I finally gave in and admitted that I will never get over my fear of biking in the city and gave mine away). THERE IS NO ROOM.

Re: coconut oil - I've been using it as body moisturizer but it's a little time consuming. I slather it on but it doesn't soak in quickly, so then I tend to put a robe on and wait a while before toweling off the excess. It definitely does moisturize, and I love it, but I sort of wonder if I'm doing it wrong?

  7. omg, what was that yo gabba gabba video!? I have a 7.5 month old. I'm not sure what to think about my future. Haaa.

How's the coconut oil working for you? I tried it for a few days on my face and I couldn't tell if it was making my skin better or worse. I feel like I should do another test, but I'm skeptical.

  9. Are you really that happy with the Dermalogica stuff? Remember how we had the same NY resolution? Well, the Kiehl's stuff I sprung for made me break out. Tear*

And to everyone else, thank you.
