This past weekend some friends of ours invited us over for brunch in their backyard. We devoured yummy food and chatted while Cheech frolicked in the grass and played with their dog, Memphis. It hit home that Joe and I REALLY want a yard of our own. House hunting has definitely taken its toll on us lately, but we're trying our very best to stay positive. EVERYONE keeps telling us that we will eventually find the house that is right for us, and I know in the deepest part of my heart that they speak the truth.
In the meantime, with Summer upon us, we've decided to finally spruce up our little deck (for realz this time) with lots of new plants and maybe a little table and chairs for dining al fresco. After our weekly market trip, we stopped by a local nursery to pick up a few vegetable plants... black cherry tomatoes, eggplant, pickling cucumbers, and some herbs. It's probably a little late in the season to be planting produce, and I'll be surprised if we grow anything edible, but I'm pretty happy to feel excited about our home again.
