I've been BUSY. I've been horrible at blogging, I've sucked at returning emails, and quite honestly, it's a wonder that I've managed to shower every day for the past week. Well, every day except Saturday. There's just a lot of stuff I need to get done before our trip to Mexico (SO SOON!), but things should stabilize by the time we get back. Posting will most likely be wonky until then, but I will try to check in at least twice a week.
Here are some updates...
1. YOU GUYS, your breakfast suggestions were off the chain. Such good ones, really. I started responding to everyone, but then got distracted by Cheech taking her diaper off in the middle of our living room. Luckily, a major catastrophe was averted.
Anyway, I'm on a mission to try most, if not all of them. I've been mixing some peanut butter into oatmeal, and it's seriously like crack in hot cereal form. I've typically always preferred savory breakfasts, which is why I never bothered with peanut butter in the AM, but now I know that I've been missing out. At first, I was topping my peanut buttery oatmeal with some chopped and toasted almonds (A+), but then tried adding some banana slices seared in coconut oil instead (A+++). The best part? I don't even get slightly hungry until lunch rolls around.
2. My back, neck and shoulders are doing much better. Thanks for all the great advice and local recommendations. I, too, believe that acupuncture is a blessed miracle, but I wanted to see if my body could heal on its own this time around. And it did! I took every effort to take it easy for a few days, made sure to get plenty of rest, took some pain killers when needed, and slowly but surely saw major results. I haven't gotten back to a normal exercise regime just yet, but have been taking little walks with Cheech to the post office and grocery store, and whatnot.
3. I've had this song stuck in my head for well over a week, and I don't mind one bit.
Talk to you all soon!

Peanut butter and banana oatmeal?!?!?!!!! Definitely trying it for breakfast tomorrow!!!

ReplyDeletetry plantains? fried plantains (with some raw sugar on top) with black beans & rice & pineapple is my numero uno breakfast. yum
So glad you're feeling better! xo.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, that sounds amazing!! I am going to have to give it a try. I just finished baking a whole wheat banana bread with cononut oil and honey in place of butter and sugar and am surprised at how tasty it is! That will be my breakfast the next couple days, definitely ok with that.
