Now that we have our windows in, we can spend our time stressing about painting this place. We're starting with the living and dining rooms, and although we're certain we want two different shades of grey, getting the greys EXACTLY right is quite the science. After testing six different greys (who knew the grey scale could truly be all over the place?), we've decided on this grey for our dining room. Although making that choice was actually quite effortless, picking a complimentary shade for our living room has been a different story. We have it narrowed down to two, which I guess isn't really so bad. The difference between the two? One is a very cool grey, and the other has a much warmer feel. I'm liking how well the cooler option will work with our vast plant collection, but then I'm also loving how the warmer, cozier grey will look with our new navy couch. The bottom line is both greys will look awesome in here, but just in different ways. So what say you... cool vs. warm, which would be your choice?

I really like the cool version. It's more bright and cheery. :)
ReplyDeletewhite. i like white.
ReplyDeletethanks.

DeleteI like the cool version - both are fab though
ReplyDeleteWarm. I just painted my room Benjamin Moore Stormy Monday. I know adding to your choices doesn't help, but, ya know. Just wanted to throw it out there.
ReplyDeleteI vote cool grey. We're doing grey in our living room this weekend, but we're going darker with Martha Stewart Zinc.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely cool!
ReplyDeleteCool!!
ReplyDeleteCool. The warm one doesn't look cosy to me, just dingy.
ReplyDeleteWe have Metro Grey in two rooms of our house and I LOVE IT.
ReplyDeleteCool.
ReplyDeleteliving room, go cool.
ReplyDeleteCool. For sure.
ReplyDeleteI would go for the cool version... it suits your family's personality better! :)

Cool--even though the color is technically cooler, the feel for it looks warmer than the other one. It looks cozier!
ReplyDeleteI say cool as well. By a long shot.
ReplyDeleteI like both too! My parents have a warm grey in their bedroom, I believe its called Elephant's breath (so cute eh?) and it looks awesome, very tranquil with white accents.
ReplyDeleteI like the cool. I can't see your plants in the warm version. And I have to see your plants.
ReplyDeleteI love the cool. It looks brighter and fresher than the warm. It would be perfect for all the greenery of the plants
ReplyDeletewarm warm warm! your plants will look just as gorgeous in the warm as the cool! I think a living room is for comfort and that warm color makes me feel right at home. What more could you ask? Good luck with your choice!
ReplyDeleteWe have a warmer grey on 3 of the walls in our living room (it was painted like this when we moved in, the other wall is red). Anyhow, it's a warmer grey. I like it okay, but not all picture frames work well against it. Well, I guess maybe it is ones with silver frames that don't really look good.
ReplyDeleteThat said, we are considering moving, and I have the urge to have a bunch of white rooms after living in an apt for a couple of years with a lot of color. But if I were choosing between the two greys, I would maybe try the cool...somehow our warmer grey color has green-ish undertones...
I'd go with the cool. It just looks more airy and open, especially with lots of plants.
