dreams, shattered

There's this funny thing I do where I'm always in search of the PERFECT something-or-other, and my list of specifications as to what will make that something-or-other actually perfect grows so exponentially long, that I end up creating this imaginary object in my brain that I'm never EVER going to find. I did that when searching for a coat for this season, and then quickly realized that we're practically half way through winter and I was still sans coat. I made it my mission to find a coat (any coat) this past weekend only to find that, surprise surprise, no one is even selling coats anymore. Hopefully this new Old Navy sweater coat I'm now sporting will cut it through this frigid Oakland winter.

I've been doing this funny thing with boots for, I don't know, multiple years now. I am not a boots person. It's definitely not that I don't like boots... it's more that whenever I try a pair on, I look like somewhat of an idiot. So, I've spent an absurd amount of time browsing through the interwebs and searching through Pinterest board after Pinterest board to find what I would consider the perfect boots for me. The good news? I finally found them. The bad news? They are no longer available. The other bad news? Not even in my WILDEST dreams could I ever afford them. And so my stupid search continues.

  3. i do the same thing, with the added sadness of mustering the courage (read, credit) to purchase said perfect item, only to find there is nary a pair in my size in sight. guess the universe is trying to remind me of my fiscal cliff.

  4. Did you check out the No. 6 store site? It looks like they're having a 60 percent off sale right now, including on their clogs. I spent my entire shoe budget for the season on a pair, and I have worn them literally every day since I bought them three months ago. Call the Soho store and see what they can do for you -- the people who work there are really helpful. I had a mini heart attack when handing over my credit card, but the cost per wear has already made them worth it.

  8. Ugh i feel your pain. i set out on a quest for the PERFECT fringed boot last year and failed. i decided to continue my quest this season only to find that thee most perfect pair of fringed boots were created last season by zara. Zara only issues x amount of boots and while i was caught up on my own personal quest i completely got left in the dust without BOOTS!
this season is almost over and i just dropped off a pair of purple vintage boots i purchased via etsy at the cobbler and asked him to add fringes which cascade down teh back seam of the boot. i cannot wait to rock those bad boys, if only for 2-3 more weeks, here in san diego.

  9. *cough cough* CLOGOUTLET.COM *cough cough*

many styles. many sales. only negative is that most of the clogs are seconds ... so, like, a staple might be slightly off. or the left shoe might be microscopically bigger than the right. and there are no returns. period. DUM DUM DUMMMMMMM.

  10. Sanita clog boots. They look the same, but are much more affordable, plus are a classic and the originals!
